Questions and Answers

Where does my kids fee go?

The Bucs program does not make any money on teams or players. At the beginning of each year we determine total expenses per age group to determine fee.

We will use a 10U team with 11 players as an example. Players fees are $800.

A total of $8,800 is collected in players fees. This is where the money goes...

Team costs:

Uniforms: $2750 ($250 per kid)

Team Insurance: $150 ($14 per kid)

Umpires (regular season 10 game): $1,150 ($105 per kid)

League Fee (CVBA): $350 ($32 per kid)

Field Fees: $650 ($60 per kid)

High School Sunday Camp: $825 ($75 per kid)

Indoor Practice: $750 ($70 per kid)

Tournament 1: $650 ($60 per kid)

Tournament 2: $650 ($60 per kid)

Tournament 3: $650 ($60 per kid)

Equipment/Gear (ex. catchers gear): $150 ($14 per kid)

Banners: $100 ($9 per kid)

Bucs Fee (website license, concessions, tryouts, etc...): $150 ($14)

TOTAL COST TO OPERATE TEAM: $8,975

TOTAL COST PER KID: $815

Bucs actually lose money with younger teams, and is made up by the money we make in concessions.

Why did the Bucs fee increase by $200 this year?

Last year the Bucs Board raised over $30,000 from sponsors and gave those funds to each team to reduce the costs. With reduced capacity in 2026, we put fundraising responsibility back on each team. Each team had the ability to find jersey sponsors and banner sponsors. For each team, the total amount of sponsor money raised will go directly back to that team. If a team found two jersey sponsors at $1,000 each, a total of $2,000 would go back to that manager. The manager/team can then decide what they want to do with the money. They could choose to refund families, enter another tournament, buy a GoPro for GameChanger. If the money was given back to the families this would reduce the players fees back to where they were the prior year.

What happened to the Snap! fundraiser?

All funds raised by team were provided back the manager. Each manager has the ability to do as they wish for their team.

What's up with the uniform situation?

George Hihn has stepped up to work through any issues and has done a remarkable job. He has a checklist of needs and is working through those and is communicating directly with managers. If your child received the correct sizes but didn't fit, Bucs will not cover the cost, however, check with George as we might be able to swap them out. Moving forward George will be handling uniforms and we expect this to be a much smoother process.

How can I help?

We need support! Folks who have built and carried this program in the past have kids that are aging out of the program. Please reach out to rrbucsbaseball@gmail.com if you have interest in supporting.
